Competitive Races

In addition to being a championship weekend for the kids, the Orienteering, for the win! event will also be a sanctioned "A-Meet" for everyone else.

There will be an individual, point-to-point, two-day competition for adults. Day 1 will take place at Fort Ebey State Park on April 21, 2012, and Day 2 will take place at Lord Hill Regional Park on April 22, 2012. The winners will have the fastest combined time over the two races.

The following courses and categories will be offered for advanced orienteers:
Blue Course: Men 21-34
Red Course: Women 21-34, Men 35-39, Men 40-44, Men 45-49
Green Course: Women 35-39, Women 40-44, Women 45-49, Women 50-54, Men 50-54, Men 55-59
Brown Course: Women 55-59, Women, 60-64, Women 65-69, Women 70-74, Women 75+, Men 60-64, Men 65-69, Men 70-74, Men 75+

For those wishing to run in their age group, we will have competitive Open categories for Red, Green, Brown, Orange, Yellow, and White courses.

For juniors not competing in either the Interscholastic or Intercollegiate Championships (ie: Canadian juniors, non-collegiate juniors), we will have Junior competitive categories, too. (M-20, M-18, M-16, M-14, M-12, M-10, F-20, F-18, F-16, F-14, F-12, F-10)



Recreational Courses

If you're never tried orienteering before, or if you're not interested in being competitive, or if you'd just like to go out for a nice walk in the woods, recreational courses available at both the Fort Ebey and Lord Hill events! There is no advanced registration required to participate recreationally: just show up to the event and register!

Entry fees will be the standard for Cascade local events: $6 for club members, $11 for non club members.

There will be a recreational course available each day, with day-of-event signup. So, if you didn't sign up for the competitive stuff, or if you'd like to bring a friend, we will have courses at Fort Ebey and Lord Hill.

Saturday @ Fort Ebey, register between 9:30am and 11:30am. 3.1 km, beginner navigation level.
Sunday @ Lord Hill, register between 9:00am and 10:00am. 4.8 km, beginner / intermediate level.

(The Lord Hill registration closes earlier because you'll need to catch a shuttle up to the north entrance, and the last shuttle leaves at 10:30am).
